The Parent Project, Improving Adolescent Behavior and Restoring Families

The Parent Project was created specifically for parents with difficult or out-of-control
adolescents (ages 11-18). The Parent Project builds hope for families and communities by
providing specific, no-nonsense solutions to the problems parents face today: truancy, family
conflict, poor grades, drug and alcohol use, criminal behavior, running away, violence, and
negative peer influences. Parent Project offers practical and emotional support to families
as they begin the difficult process of change.

Parents are self-referred or can be referred to the Parent Project classes by law
enforcement, diversion programs, court systems, mental health professionals, children
services, social service agencies, and school officials.

Loving Solutions, Parent Project, Jr.

Loving Solutions is based on the award winning program Parent Project, Sr. ® but adapted for
parents of children ages 5-10 years of age. Loving Solutions builds hope for families and
communities by providing specific, no-nonsense solutions to the problems parents face today:
Sibling Rivalry, Family Conflict, Poor Grades, Truancy, Unruly Behaviors, Impulsive
Behaviors, Modern Media and Technology, Drug/Alcohol Use. Loving Solutions offers practical
and emotional support to families as they begin the difficult process of change.

Parents are self-referred or can be referred to Loving Solutions classes by social workers,
diversion programs, court systems, law enforcement, mental health professionals, school
officials, and others.

Program Developers

Ralph “Bud” Fry, Co-author. Mr. Fry currently serves as the Present of the Parent Project,
Inc. He is a retired Police Supervisor with 18 years of Law Enforcement experience and has 22
years of experience as a parent project educator. Bud is a past recipient of the California
Governor’s Awarded of Excellence for Outstanding Contributions in Crime Prevention and the
California Youth Authority’s Individual Service Award. His educational programs for families
with high-risk youth have been formally recognized by members of the United States Congress,
the California Legislature, the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors, and the U.S.
Department of Education.

Roger H. Morgan Psy.D., Co-author. Dr. Morgan is a Psychologist practicing in Southern
California, specializing in the treatment of children and adolescents with behavior problems.
His interest is working in a short-term therapeutic model, helping parents to apply
behavioral interventions at home. Dr. Morgan has over 30 years of experience with high risk
families and teens, Dr. Morgan continues to pioneer the use of psycho-educational programs to
improve the accessibility of mental health care.
